Leave can have a variety 
			of meanings all of which could have another individual command but 
			for the sake of the dog and yourself - keep it simple.
Use Leave 
			to get you dog to ignore something it finds interesting, drop some 
			disgusting item it has in its mouth, stop chasing that cat. put that 
			child down - you don't know where its been. Broadly - stop doing 
			something you don't want it to do.

| Wave
    hand or hands with arms extended towards the dog and away from the object you wish left
    alone.  The hand signal is similar to that you would use for 'Back'. May be used to stop playing with toys or to interrupt feeding.  |

| If a dog is a notorious scavenger you can teach this command while walking on an lead to get it to come off any 'little items' that may have taken its fancy. | 
Pull the dog away from the attraction while using the verbal command 'Leave' and applying the hand signal.  |
