All these video's were filmed at the English National
Sheepdog trials at Busby Hall, Carlton in Cleveland in 2007.
The quality is not brilliant due to our inexperience in uploading to
YouTube in those days. Full Screen not recommended.

Thomas Longton and Lady
Edited condensed version of Thomas Longton running his Border Collie, Lady, at the English National Sheepdog Trials on 16th August 2007.
Thomas is an enthusiastic sheep
farmer,  trialist and supporter of young people wishing to
progress in the world of the working sheepdog. His family have been
predominant in the sheepdog training and trialing world with three
generations of National and International winners. He now provides
residential training facilities for people and dogs at his farm in
			Lancashire.

Vic Morris with Nip
Edited condensed version of Vic Morris running his Border Collie, Nip, at the English National Sheepdog Trials on 16th August 2007.
In
2002, Vic Morris, was the English National Sheepdog trials winner
with Glen, a pup from the only litter bred from Dot, one of our
Border Collie Rescue principal sheepdogs who was herself bred by
			John Templeton.

Dot had her pups well before coming into BCR care, but it is good to
			know they take after her!
Sophie Holt and Sid
Edited condensed version of Sophie Holt running her uncles Border Collie, Sid, at the English National Sheepdog Trials on 16th August 2007.
Sophie, aged 15 at the time, was
already an accomplished trialist with many wins and was the youngest
			competitor at the 2007 event.
When she came over to the BCR stall we took the opportunity to
			interview her.
She has been training and working sheepdogs for many years and is
enthusiastic about attracting other young people to the sport.
She was the last competitor to run at
the trials and by the time she took the field it was raining.
Apologies to everyone for the rain on the lens and the poor sound
			quality.

Jim Cropper - Final Runoff
Edited condensed version of Jim Cropper running
his Border Collie in the runoff at the English National Sheepdog
			Trials on 16th August 2007.

The trial was held over three days. On each day the highest scoring
handler and dog go into the runoff at the end of the trial to decide
the overall winner and English National Champion. Jim was the
highest scorer on his day and was selected to go third in the
runoff. This means this run is the very last of the trial and is
			followed by the presentation.

The top three scorers and the next twelve highest ranked are
guaranteed a place in the English team to represent England in the
Internationals. The runoff's are shorter than the qualifying runs
with a reduced course. At the point he started Jim knew he was in
the top three and in the team.
Winners and Award Presentations
The winners over the three days - and the rest of
the runners qualifying for a place in the English team to represent
their country at the International Sheepdog trials - are announced
and presented with their 'Caps' and awards at the end of the 2007
			English National Sheepdog Trials.

The three days of the Trial were plagued by wind but rain, at least,
held off until the last moment and only dampened the last few runs
			of the event.
However by the time of the presentation the rain had settled.
Due to the number of spectators, press and film crews, no marquee
was big enough to hold the awards presentation so it was a damp,
			open air event.

Perhaps quite fitting as the lifestyle of farmer and shepherd does
not stop because of a bit of rain and wind.
Phillip and Bracken
Phillip runs his Border Collie, Bracken, in a
demonstration of herding at the 2007 ISDS English National Sheepdog
Trials at Busby Hall in Carlton.
			Thomas Longton lends a hand.

Like Sophie Holt, Phillip was another young handler beginning to
make a name for himself at the time and he has carried on giving
demonstrations using sheepdogs, ducks and geese as well as working
			the family farm.
He can be seen doing a more recent demonstration in our Masham Sheep
fair video on the HD video page.
